Awesome.
I'm unsure how much of this was actually staged, but most of the movies are still funny, all the same. I particularly liked Commercial #5. |

| Sodomy and James Bond |
[Nov. 19th, 2006|09:24 am] |
But not necessarily in that order.
I saw Casino Royale last night, and I was *thoroughly* impressed with it. It redeemed 007 movies from what they were becoming according to the last 3 Brosnin movies. Golden Eye was great, but practically each one after that got too far-fetched, hokey, and over the top.
Don't get me wrong, James Bond is over the top in general. But villains became so incredibly outrageous, it was silly. Not outrageous like Oddjob outrageous, but outrageous like the Joker from Batman outrageous.
So, with Casino Royale, I think it was a fantastic step in the right direction. On top of this, the script was solidly written. Some of the best Bond dialogue I've heard in quite some time. The "torture" scene with the chair in particular. Both the humour and the seriousness.
Daniel Craig was amazing. Then again, I've been a fan of his for awhile now. I first saw him in Layer Cake and enjoyed him so much, I actively looked for other movies he played in. His performance in The Jacket was more minor, but still just as excellent - and I enjoyed his role in Munich enthusiastically.
I think he's only second to Sean Connery for Bonds now. That position used to be Brosnin, because I believed he brought the class back to the character. But what I like about Daniel Craig is he's bringing back the recklessness of Connery's Bond, which is what was so endearing about that Bond.
Eva Green and Craig's chemistry was close to perfect. Their mincing dialogue in their first encounter ended up coming off a lot more pleasurable than I typically find those types of conversations.
One of my few minor complaints was the predictable "twist" in the plot. I saw it coming incredibly early on, but I really don't fault the movie as a whole for that, more that I fault a particular scene that should have been done entirely different.
Anyway, great movie. I highly recommend seeing it.
In other news, I found an absolutely hilarious movie. I laughed so hard I cried. In fact, I've watched it several times, and I've gone to the point of tears.
Here it is.
I haven't entirely deciphered what is being screamed, but it at least starts with, "Hail sodomy..." And the hand gestures... good god, it has me rolling. |

I'm sure the interview will be stellar, coming from Fox. Top notch, and absolutely invigorating. There will be laughs, tears, lies, hypocrisy, and confe... oh, wait, no confessions.
Because he didn't do it. No sir. |

I'm not prejudiced against "rednecks." I do not claim they're all idiots and bigots.
I have, in fact, met a great many intelligent people from the south, when I was in the military, including when I was in the south, in the military. Hell, people I met in Military Intelligence were sometimes "rednecks," per se.
Was a joke.

I am having coffee knowledge injected into my brain. I had a Coffee Experts class yesterday, and it certainly had some interesting information. Not something that's terribly applicable, beyond what I already knew, but interesting none-the-less. And I suppose it would be useful in those rare cases of customers who want to know some nitty gritty details.
Along a similar vein, I am attempting to learn more about each individual spirit, where they're from typically, what type of wood barrels they're stored in normally, length of age, etc...
Interesting stuff. Well, for one who's interested. D'uh. |

I have wrote two posts already, and deleted both, because they both were far too personal and introspective.
Let us just say:
I am horribly confused. I don't know if someone is playing me like a fucking lab rat or is actually attracted to me.
And whatever one of the two is true (or perhaps neither, but that would make even less sense), they both frustrate me. One angers me, the other doesn't make sense.
And I feel like a goddamn cliche now, because there are millions upon millions that have been in a like situation.
It's so much easier to be apathetic and leave it alone. I'm a freakin' sado-masochist apparently. |

There is no bloody manual on life - it's more like each person is writing their own.

I can't remember the last *really* good comedy film I saw. I know many tell me I'm rather, well, critical of comedies. Which, I suppose I do agree.
Feel free to recommend me some comedies, I plan on hitting blockbuster soon. Want to get some laughs going.
I enjoy witty humour, dark humour, sarcastic humour, etc... |
